I need help--- what are three qualities that all successful civilizations have in common?

i looked the question and the word up--- i couldn't find anything

Just think about some civilizations that you would consider successful. Did they have a good leader? Strong faith? Strong defense? Careful alliances? Equal rights? Written constitution? National bank? "Successful" is such a subjective word...

1. A sufficiently mild climate that significant portions of the population could devote themselves to activities other than mere survival. This allows for arts and sciences to develop and flourish, without which you don't have a civilization you have a bunch of hunter/gatherers.
2. Adaptability. Times change, people change, if a society cannot change with them it will be left behind. The Spartan culture was built solely on their military supremacy. The Pelopenisian War lasted so long most other city-states ended up with armies just as good. Shorn of the power to bully their neighbors the Spartan society collapsed. Naturally, I oversimplify here for purposes of example.
3. Civic Virtue. No society will survive if the citizens are unwilling to put the long term benifit above instant gratification and act accordingly. As Plato observed, you cannot build a public good through many private evils.

Food production. Being able to feed a growing population ultimately may lead to the success of a civilization. This might be one.
