Most indoor bonsai are tropical plants like Ficus. They don't require much light and like indoor 65 to 75 temperatures. You can find many kinds of fig plants at nursery's and on line stores. I have one in my office right next to me. Just find one in your price range that peaks your interest and follow the normally included instructions.

a bonsai can be any tree- bonsai means 'tree in box'

I had luck with ficus benjamin and I don't have a green thumb :-)

i asked the same thing and just about everyone told me to get a ficus, I'm getting one just as soon as i find the right kind, there's a ton of different ficus plants. so just do a search for ficus and find the kind you want.
