How do you determine if the animal is able to give consent? Legally animals IQs would fall in the developmentally delayed category if compared to humans. If you could determine thier IQ and psychologically determine they understood the choice they were making, then I guess it is ok, but hardly possible

First of all, humans are animals. You see, this was a trick question. Secondly, you did not notice what animal this was. I mean some animals are just not monogamous, it would be wrong to force them into a long-term commitment. Whoops, there is that word that men have trouble saying.

That reminds me, do you know the difference between involvement and commitment? Ham and eggs!

A chicken is involved with eggs but a pig is committed to ham.

Now badgers, let me tell you that a badger just has to be free. You cannot tie a badger down. Well, you can but he just bites through the ropes and then you will not probably get your deposit back on the ropes (or your apartment when it is time to vacate, either. ) A badger mates for life but no one tells you how long or short that really is. Perhaps it just seems like life, as it flashes in front of your eyes. On second thought, do not mate with a badger with your eyes open. Sorry, Nichole Kidman, you had to leave Tom after that eyes wide shut business with the badger...but that was another story.

Some animals, like the now nearly extinct Goya, married in rather polygamous fashion. One Goya was found to have over twenty wives in as many towns stretching from Belize to Port Aransas, TX. Fortunately the railways finally put an end to discount fares for Goya and the tale of the truant rodent came crashing down like a Brazilian ponsi scheme.

Many readers are probably aware that it takes three gray whales (California type) to mate. Two males and one female are involved. One male holds the female afloat while the female and her groom engage in procreation or whatever they are doing. Heaven help us if they are not trying to have babies. I know that would be sinful. You can google that, if you do not believe me. I mean about the three to mate. Sinfulness is in the eye of the whale, I suppose.

Meanwhile, a human probably should never marry. I think that marriage is the surest cure for love that humankind has ever found. A couple seems to be deeply in love right up to that kiss at the altar and then what happens? Bam! So, maybe they should just jump over the marriage bit, have the reception, a honeymoon, and then part as good friends. Forget about the divorce and recriminations.

Glad you asked this. I feel much better now.

Yes, it is wrong on so many levels. Animals aren't on the same level of intelligence as humans. Plus you can't communicate, we have different body types and the list goes on and on. And how would you really know if they are in love with you? The only people who would consider this have serious mental problems.

I don't think that animals really have a strong concept of marriage. If you can get the animal to sign on the dotted line of the marriage license and fully acknowledge his or her understand of the committment, then sure... But how likely is that?

Yes it is wrong. Marriage was made for people, not animals. Sex with an animal is also a sin. Sex out of marriage is also a sin. Just thinking of sex with someone else whom you are not married to is adultery and sin.

I think people have been doing this for centuries with sheep if you know what I mean. Hey, the sheep keeps you warm and does'nt seem to ever get headaches. The farmer could pronounce them.

since 'marriage' requires consent and an animal cant consent as it doesnt have a clue to the term, i would say a human cant "marry an animal.

simply having sex with an animal doesnt equate marriage.

You must think of the children. They would catch pure hell from their classmates at school. Kids would pull their tails. And lord knows what would happen to them if they got caught sniffing the other kids butts.

It's ok to love your animal, but not LOVE YOUR ANIMAL! No beastiality is very wrong and against the law! Stick with the opposite sex, not the opposite species!
