The goverment sanctions gambling because they can make $$$ from it(lotteries)

They say a woman has the right to do what she wants with her body...

Then why am i NOT allowed to decide what DRUGS are right for me, if I can puke my guts out, and die from alcohol poisoning(67% of Americans drink to get DRUNK), and cigarettes are on a level with HEROIN(US Surgeon general).

The war on drugs? Why is no one going after the biggest drug pushers of the 21st century...Phizer, Bayer, Merck, etc, etc.

Am I crazy here?

no one ever says "i want to be a junkie when i grow up" but if your only 16 and are using like you describe, there is only one option, it will be tough, find something else to do. spend your money on something productive, stop hangin around other users and don't go to parties, buy a paintball gun and find some other paintballer in the area and the longer you don't live the users life the easier it will be to not think about it all the time and QUIT SMOKING CIGS. thats gotta be the hardest thing to do, but your young and should be a bit easier, the other option is to stop using, but still go to parties and hang with the same friends, BUT IT WON'T WORK, it might seem to work for a month or two but then you'll want to have that high feeling "just one more time and that'll be it" but remember you didn't become a junkie over night and you will end up the same way you are now or worse

America tried prohibition and it didn't work.
The cigarette companies have bought all the Congressmen.

You do have the right to decide if drugs are right for you, and the government has the right to put you in jail if you get caught. That's one of the risks you take.

Drug use destroys lives. It also costs millions in medical care, insurance payments, etc to clean up after drug users who can't pay thier own way and/or cost others money by stealing, wrecking cars, and so on.

When you grow up, if you're like most of us, you'll find joy and satisfaction in a meaningful career and beautiful family.

Otherwise, move to Amsterdam, where drugs are legal.

you do have the choice to put whatever you want to in your body, but can you control your actions once you have done that? no you can't even if you say you can. no your are not crazy you do have a point aobut some of the legal drugs in this country i think they should be taken of the market, but it is all about the money. if the government doesn't get something back from it they say you can't do it. i don't know anyone who would give the gov. a percentage of the money they made selling crack.

Once upon a time in America almost every one used heroin. in one form or another. Heroin was so accepted and commonplace that you could order it mailorder through the Sears catalog. And, Coca-Cola's principle ingredient was cocaine. Marijuana was cultivated all over America and was used to make ropes for ships.

There were no laws against recreational drugs. Employers used to "give" cocaine to laborers to increase production. But, then, the rumors started. Some said that Mexicans were using Marijuana to lure white women into lives of crime. So, some states outlawed Marijuana. Then, another rumor, the Chinese were using opium to lure white women into illicite affairs. So some states outlawed opium. The same thing happened with southern blacks and cocaine, so the southern states outlawed cocaine. As a result of different states trying to protect the virtues of white women, we had conflicting drug laws throughout the country. During the Viet Nam war, the federal government decided to suppress the anti-war sentiment among the LSD users by creating federal anti-drug laws. Their excuse was that drugs were dangerous. They produced numerous anti-drug propoganda ads like "Refer Madness" which showed people acting like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde when using drugs.

There has never been any documented medical proof that drugs are dangerous. In fact, the World Health Organization conducted a study in 1995 that proved there was no medical danger from recreational drugs; and, the U.S. government suppressed the report.

The real truth is that prescription drugs kill twice as many people as recreational drugs every year.

Alcohol and cigarettes, both legal drugs, kill five times as many people as recreational drugs.

Then, the government discovered how much money could be made by selling drugs and then confiscating dealer's homes, cars, boats and cash.

They're spraying defoliants and poisons throughout South America, killing more people than drugs ever killed. in the name of the "War on Drugs."

75% of all the prisoners in American jails are in jail on drug charges. Who pays for this? Who pays for the Methodone programs? Who pays for all of the international drug interdiction programs?

The sad part is all of the nitwits that echo the government line about drug dangers and the fiendish crack users flooding our streets.

None of these nitwits ever thought that the real problems that we have with drugs are created by government prohibition. Just as with the prohibition of alcohol, drug prices are inflated 1, 000%. When prohibition was repealed, a $26 shot of whiskey dropped to 25 cents. There were no gangsters fighting over territory, alcoholics weren't committing robberies to get a drink.

Government also used to arrest numbers runners, saying that gambling was immoral and an abomination to a civilized society. Now, the government runs all of the lotteries.

People need to think for themselves and quit mimicing all of the government's propoganda.

In answer to your question, NO, I don't think you are crazy!
But I do think a lot of gullible people are feeding you bad information.

You'te not crazy, Whats crazy is the crap the government wants to shove into our brains that this is a free country. We can't take the drugs we want unless they are taxed, we can't keep all of our paychecks because of taxes and some people can't even afford the drugs they need to stay alive in their sickness or old age becuase we are so gd free! CAPITALISM and Brainwashing at its finest.

You are right...but the government makes too much money out of these drugs by taxing them.

Not all is lost. We elect the government from the senator to the president. Become active within your city. Write letter to the congressman and senators and educate yourself in regards to the industry. We can make the difference!

The governement thinks it knows what is best for us but basically it is just a bunch of bleeding heart lobbyists who think life isn't fair and someone should be sued if something bad happens in their life. (I still can't understand why I have to wear a seatbelt - they tell me it's MY law HAH)

The bottom line is money... the rich trying to figure ways to get it from the rest of us. The government makes a lot of money off of illegal drugs. If we made them legal thousands of government employees would be out of jobs!

song about drugs, just cause I feel like puttin it in but its good, and its by guns n roses...

it was long ago,
seems like a dream.
the day I sucked the air
from a bottle of whipped cream
and i got real high
and things got real slow
and i started talking like this
what's going on?
i don't know
and then i sold my car
for a Greatful Dead ticket
my dad yelled at me
and he grounded me
and he said i was a dick,
it was the worst day of my life
and i'll never forget
but the very next day
I was doing bong hits
in the back of my friend's chevy
so don't tell me
we're winning the war on drugs
cause drugs are like a big ol' can of raid
and you're all little bugs
and don't tell me
to not get high
cause i'm as low as i can get
without kissing your ***
and blowing you at the same time

CHORUS:
man, don't tell me about love and peace
or that the Joneses have a handgun
pointed at me
don't tell me to just say no
i'm an addict, i say don't let me go
whatever happened to sex drugs n' rock n' roll?
now we just have AIDS crack and techno

so they busted me
so i say "**** them up"
for selling dope
and i went to jail
and i wasn't forgiven
like that little ****** who shot the pope
and he said i had the right to remain silent
and they couldn't explain
but i didn't resist
and i was invited
cuz all i ever wanted was the right to remain
and they questionned me
yeah, they asked me "why?"
and i said "**** off"
i don't think I should be shot
for selling pot
it's just my little way of saying "high"
now my record's all ****** up
now two times a week
they make me piss in a cup
well what i want to do
is piss down their throats

CHORUS

okay, here's the sensitive part
they told me
it's time to change
cause our parents had
Hendrix, Janice and Jim
but what about
River Phoenix and Curt Cobain
and they told me
to praise the lord
but i've been waiting for so long
for him to call me back
i think i'm gonna go pray
at Betty Ford
and they told me
that life was fair
i can't smoke a plant that was made by God
but i can kill my wife if i'm a football player
and they told me,
they told me to just ignore
but i'd rather smoke crack
outta Nancy Reagan's skull
while gettin' a *******
from (incomprehensible name)

CHORUS

Alcohol and Ciggarettes are socially acceptable. Medication that these corporations don't cure, but they calm medical symptoms so they are needed, so they are socially acceptable. That's pretty much it.
