For trail riding, probably Honda CRF230. Its a development from the 1970s 125 engine.
A lot of the older XR185/200 parts can fit (or be adapted, exhaust, carb, cam, etc if you need more power in the future) Its as reliable as a rock.
Other than that, the Suzuki DR200 has been around for a long time, but doesnt have as many tuning parts available

Trail Riding I like my Yamaha XT225. XT225 has Electric Start and is street legal also for Dual Sport riding / touring. I'm 225 pounuds and have had mine on the Rubicon trail and commuted across the San Francisco ay bridge with it also. For heavier duty dirt riding I have a Honda XR650R but that is way more bike then you need.

I'm 5'5", and weigh about 120. I have a Yamaha TTR 125 and love it. It's the best bike ever - easy to ride, you can pick it up if it drops over, it has a kick stand, and it's just plain cool. Good luck and have fun!

there continues to be a great number of incorrect information with regards to present day 2 stroke and four strokes and that is comprehensible on condition that no longer many human beings have laid down the $6000 to $7000 to own a present day 4 stroke. One man or woman pronounced that there are 2 varieties of two stroke, path and motocross, yet which could no longer a lot real anymore. 2 stroke air-cooled path motorcycles like the KDX and IT are a element of the previous. KTM makes a 2 stroke "woods" motorbike besides the undeniable fact that it really is depending off of both stroke liquid-cooled race engine so no longer an same element because the KDX and IT in any respect. So right here's your answer. present day 2 strokes make terrible path motorcycles. for experienced riders they make an exceedingly good woods race motorbike, yet aren't any more suitable for informal amateur path driving. no longer understanding your length it really is complicated to point something yet when the dimensions matches you a Honda CRF230F will be suitable for path driving, taking area in round on the farm, etc. it really is likewise quiet adequate to vacation round farm animals unlike any 2 stroke on the marketplace. the concern with a 2 stroke is that the capacity will be very abrupt and also you may foul plugs consistently merely driving casually.

well, you didnt mention how exp. you were so I'll talk about both ends of the specttrum. If you are experienced, KTM 200EXC on the high end, KDX200 on the low end, and I think the KTM might be street legal in some state. I'd get the suspension shortened though. If you're a little inexperienced, CRF/XR 100 to 230 should cut it. In fact I believe the CRF150 just got redesigned.
