NCSA Mosaic. Netscape was the first most used browser... At first you had to pay for it, it used to be around a hundred dollars. Then IE came to the maket being free. Since then, most of the browsers are free.

mosaic is right. it was devoloped at the university of illinois super computer center. when the guys that made it graduated they went out on their own and made netscape
