if you have a big puddle directly under the truck in the middle of it then its a transfer case issue. The trans and transfer case use the same transmission fluid. The power steering pump is located up front. The front and rear differentials are located in the same spot as your tires (at the ends of the truck) The differentials should NEVER have red fluid in them. Gear oil is golden when new and gets almost white when its garbage. It also smells like rotten fish. Take your truck to a transmission shop and have them look at the transfer case. They are very expensive to fix and your truck wont run without it so dont let this go. Replace a cheap seal now or replace the transfer case later. They can cost up to 2k.

Here's the CORRECT answer. If it's RED fluid, it's transmission fluid. Just because your dipstick stil shows soe fluid on it, doesn't mean it's not leaking...it just hasn't leaked enough yet to show on the stick. Your transmission holds a lot of fluid. My guess is either a bad pan gasket or a stripped drain plug. Have a competent mechanic check it out right away or trasmission damage can result. Don't keep driving it this way.
By the way, the wide end of the transmission faces forward
Hope this helped.

The only red fluid I can think of would be transmission fluid, which is found in the transmission, as well as in the differential.
Oh, and the big end of the transmission faces the front of the car, that's the end that mates with the engine.

the horn shape unit is yor transmission and the big end faces front. the small end is attached to the transfer case. most 4x4's hold alot of tranny fluid. just means that the amount left in the tranny is below the leak if there is still some fluid in it.
transmission transfers power from the motor to the transfer case. looks like an oval on some
transfer case sends power from the tranny to the front axle.
rear differential applys the power from the tranny to the wheels. looks like a pumkin.
sounds like you blew a seal or a gear. needs mechanics help.
good luck

Not good, take it to a shop. There are generally 3 or 4 red fluids in a car, one is the transmission, also the power steering uses ATF like the tranny, brake fluid can appear red and the least worrysome could be antifreeze.
If the fluid is oily it is one of the first three and needs to be checked soon. If its watery, meaning antifreeze, just check collant levels, this could be a normal condition in the summer.

All of the above but no one has mentioned a power steering leak. P/S has the same red fluid. You need to get it to a repairer, quickly. Jules, auto tech and lecturer. PS: The big end of the horn thingy is called the bell housing and the little end, the tail shaft housing.
