Considering the vastness of space this question is not: is there life outside Earth. The question is has this planet (Earth) been visited in the past, or on a continuing basis by intelligent extraterestial life forms?

UFO's do indeed exist. I can indeed back up my claim. Numerous people have indeed seen objects that flew without knowing their identity and in some cases there was no one in the universe who knew their identity, thereby making them UFO's (Unidentified Flying Objects). However, this planet (Earth) has not been visited in the past or on a continuing basis by intelligent extraterestial (sic) life forms. Furthurmore, your mistaken in stating that the question is not: is there life outside Earth. Whether or not there is life outside Earth is indeed the question and the answer could very well be that despite the vastness of space there is not. Despite the enormous advances in human technology and scientific knowledge between the time of the cave-dwelling Neanderthals and the age of the space shuttle, the fact remains that enough among people who work in scientific fields the relevant information isn't well-understood. The fact of the matter is that in order for life to develope, survive, prosper and reach an extraordinary level of sophistication as it has here on Earth requires an enormous number of factors to be "just right" (analogous to porridge needing to be between "too hot" & "too cold" and a bed needing to be between "too hard" & "too soft"), any one of them being just a little bit off one way or another making the place unsuitable for life. This includes the size & shape of a star, the distance of a planet AWAY from the star, the presence of other, larger planets (a la Jupiter and Saturn) to absorb meteors, comets & asteroids, the climate, the chemical composition of the atmosphere & the soil, etc., etc., etc. The conditions that exist on the Earth and in places to relate TO the Earth are so mind-boggling ideal that it is as if we hit the million- dollar lottery every day for a million years. It is so extraordinary and so improbable that it is unlikely to be a situation that exists anywhere else in the universe. The only way for us ever to know for certain, of course, is to look in every nook and cranny, which we're not quite ready to do.

Well, there is evidence that can go both ways, either supporting or contending their existence. Here are a few supporting pieces of evidence: Some footage that has been caught is undeniable. A US missile that was test-fired years ago, is met in the sky by a totally saucer-like aircraft, a laser-beam emits, and the very warhead of the missile falls right off. This is not revealed in the footage unless it's speed is reduced and it is played back in super slow-motion. As well, President Reagan once mentioned in a UN speech how knowing that we are not alone in the universe would bring use together as an earthwide community, since we would recognize each other as the same, and only different from- not one another, but from other forms of life from a different planet. It would, when you think about it, and why would he mention that? Oddly enough, he died of alzheimer's disease. Curious... He could not have revealed the secrets he kept in that condition, because people would've concluded that he was just going crazy. Was he or wasn't he? Anyway, there are an equal number of things that also refute the idea of their existence. I have only mentioned the things positive to proof, but not the negatives.

The UFO researcher J. Allen Hynek described a UFO as "the reported perception of an object or light seen in the sky or upon the land the appearance, trajectory, and general dynamic and luminescent behaviour of which do not suggest a logical, conventional explanation and which is not only mystifying to the original percipients but remains unidentified after close scrutiny of all available evidence by persons who are technically capable of making a common sense identification, if one is possible."

This is reputedly a UFO over Passoria, New Jersey, 1952. It comes from an FBI document but there is no information establishing authenticity, or otherwise.
A photo claimed to be of a UFO over the Grand Canyon in 1997Many people believe that UFOs are extraterrestrial spacecraft, but others say there is no compelling evidence to support such a conclusion. Most scientists and academics adhere to a standard of research attributed to Carl Sagan that "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence". As a result, claims that UFOs are extraterrestrial spacecraft are generally dismissed through lack of evidence.

Well, see, you asked two different questions. Do UFO's exist? Absolutely. Anytime there's something flying in the sky that someone can't identify, that's a UFO.

Do intelligent extraterrestrial beings exist, and have they visited this planet? Unlikely. Certainly there hasn't been any reputable recorded information about them.

Yes, anything that cannot be identified is a UFO. (if it's flying) I've actually seen a few, which inspired me to learn about all natural phenomenon in the sky. After 50 years, two are still unexplained, therefore they are "unidentified".

I've heard that they travel here on a different dimension. Kind of like how ghosts live here on a different level of existence. Therefore, no need for a space ship. They just use their mind to get to where they want to go.

Don't have any personal experience with this but it does seem plausible.

Is kind of stupid to think that we are the only one on the Universe, while we think about poverty, they are alredy exploring us.

well, if they can travel between stars or even plantes, their technology is probably so advanced that they can stay hidden from us :)

adn they will want to stay hidden, seeing how we almost destroy ourselves with our own technology.
