I wouldn't go. Have them come to you. If you do go make sure that your insurance covers a hospital in that area and notify your doctor of the trip so if your medical records need to be transfered they can be done quickly.

I would check with your doctor first. He would be the best to advise. I had three of my four babies at 38 weeks, so you might want to consider that... you are considered full term. They usuallly discourage travel this late in the game. If you do travel, make sure to drink TONS of water and get out and stretch every couple of hours. My second baby came very fast. Get a list of hospitals along the way and double check insurance... But I would discourage it. Ask your friends to come visit you once the baby is born and give you a hand -- you will need it ;)

I would suggest no, you may not have the baby till you get back, but if you have the baby there it will complicate alot of things. You can't get back in time to go to your doctor or hospital... Plus what if you are only half way there or back when the baby decides to come.... then you don't even know what is around you. I would suggest you wait. If you do decide to go, find a hospital there that will take you and your insurance, just in case... and it might be smart to maybe bring the baby car seat, just in case. I'm glad your feeling well.. but is there any way your friends can meet you at least half way? Best of luck.

You could go, but I'd be prepared with a list of hospitals along the way and at the destination. 1cm dilated (you're already effacing & lost your plug), 2nd pregnancy (which will progress faster than the first) & 2 weeks from your due date (which can easily be miscalcluated)? That's a recipe for trouble.

If your friends truly care for you they wouldn't ask or allow you to put yourself in a dangerous situation.
You are already in the first stages of labor and although it's not your first pregnancy, it doesnt mean you cannot run into unexpected complications.
I think you should have them come to you...they will do so once the baby is born anyway- right?

If you want to risk your baby being born in another state without your OB there, and some strange doctor delivering her, then go ahead. The road trip itself won't hurt you (just be sure to stop and use the bathroom as soon as you have to, and drink plenty of water).

1 CM and 2nd child. I agree with your first answerer. Get a good list of all facilites between where you are and where you are going. Can't they just come and see you, instead?

i wouldnt go...first of all i heard that the labor of your second pregnancy is fast, so you might risk having the baby on the way over there...it's a little too late to travel... plus sitting for that long would not be comfortable...even if you took breaks...
