When I was a kid our car brokedown on the highway in the bronx and I remember seeing grown adults pointing at me laughing and yelling stuff at my father as he was fixing the problem and some motorcycles drove right on the breakdown lane and almost hit him

Another time I got a flat tire on the highway in Boston and I pulled over and walked to the back where the flat was and I was walking that way a car for someone stopped and when I made eye contact the guy sped off almost hitting me. Then as I'm changing the tire I had people doing the same thing laughing and pointing and yelling stuff, one guy threw a can of soda at me. This was one the 4th of july too and everyone was heading into Boston for the pops show and people had there flags on there car yet treating a fellow American like this. What figures is 2 times someone pulled over to ask if I needed a tow truck or help and they wernt Americans.

anyone ever have experiences like this?

These people were not hill billys, this happened in NYC and Boston. NYC it was mainly latinos doing all the yelling and laughing while Boston it was mainly white americans doing it

to emigrate legally is not so easy. You need a work and resident visa. I havent finished college so I have nothing to offer other countries where they would grant me residence.

Living in the western part of these united states, this kind of behavior is not so common but it still happens. This, by my thinking is poor upbringing and thoughtlessness of other people in need. You should not gain amusement by others misfortunes!

Yes. My front end got smashed a week ago today. I hit a guy in frnt of me. When we pulled over to the side people were laughing and yelling at me. I didn't see what was so funny. I actually drove my car the rest of the way home (like 2 blocks) people were laughing and pointing. Don't worry I dont get it either

I live in Canada...you would have had so many people stop for you here. They'll help with the vehicle, and you walk away with new friends every time. The U.S.A.'s stories on how self-involved the citizens are scares the Hell out of me.I know we have our share of bad guys up here, but nothing like that. I hope Canada never becomes like that.It is the worlds' responsibility to look out for the rest of the world.

I have seen this a lot in Mexico. A car will break down in the middle of the street and the other drivers will begin honking their horns and getting impatient as if the person in the broken down car chose to break down and as if the rude horn honking will make it run any quicker.

If they were legal residents of America then they were Americans.

I live in Indiana and someone has offered me help nearly every time I have had a vehicle problem.

Maybe you need to move.

No, but the truth is that, here in america, most of the people are heartless hacks, and they dont care for eachother.
But,in other countries, people watch out for eachother.
Become nice like that, and you will reap the rewards.

No, but I like to help people who are stuck in the snow or broken down. I used to do it for fun up in NH. Sorry 'bout your luck, dude.
