I saw some of it being filmed in Martin Square in Sydney, Australia last year and it looked excellent.

I think it's difficult to compare two different Supermen as the effects will have come on leaps and bounds since the days of Christopher Reeve, god rest his soul.

I understand that there are a few bits in the film that pay homage to him, which is nice.

Nowadays its not really about the actor, its more about the storyline, continuity of scenes, the director(which is mostly what depicts the standard of the movie as the actor has to do scenes the way it satisfies his imagination and desired public view) and YES the effects. I think its totally unfair to try to compare an old sci-fi with a new one, common its 2006 and the tech of this Superman Returns would rundown the former with no doubts. But hey lets find out, but i dont expect disappointment. Christopher Reeves just did what he had to do, pls dont compare just enjoy it when it RETURNS.....

I heard it was really good, and that the actor doesn't act like clark kent, but really tries to act in the style of christopher reeve

I have to say that I thought the Superman movies were erm, a bit camp and twee. Shan't be going to the cinema for the new one. The reason I watched them in the first place? Nothing better on at the time.
