I'm sorry, this isn't really an answer. But why is everyone sooooo excited about this? Who cares. Besides, she is a lawyer, if it wasn't fair, she will do somethign about it.

From what I have heard, it sounds like Star felt very slighted about not having her contract renewed, but even more slighted that a person who very vocally (and rightly) criticized her about her dishonest weight-loss claims was the one who was given her job. The way the timing worked out, apparently it was "Star, you're out", then Rosie called her a liar, then Star heard that "Rosie's In". Insult added to injury and then salt rubbed in the wound (at least in Star's mind). So, she tried to set up the View to be embarassed publicly (with the People article), but I think all she's managed to do is bring unwanted attention on the whole thing, and make herself look bad. Then again, maybe the publicity will help - I guess there's no such thing as bad publicity.

In the end, I think the ugly side of everyone has come out:

1) Star Jones has shown her true colors as a lying, manipulative opportunist (esp. with her mooching free stuff and shamelessly plugging merchandise on the show)

2) The dirty side of the TV and entertainment world (normally where agents live their lives) has been exposed to the public, which makes nobody look good

3) The View has been exposed for the crappy, worthless show that it is - a bunch of vapid, screeching hags with little or nothing of value to say

4) Rosie O'Donnell has only managed to strengthen her image as an angry, loudmouth, ultra-liberal ideologue

5)Barbara Walters, who might have been one of the few people on the show with character and class, has sunk to Star's level by responding to her jibes.

They screwed Star Jones and I won't be watching those heifers anymore especially since Rosie O'Donnell will be joining the show. She is just a loud mouth know it all that cares about her own agenda. Good luck Star, you don't need those *itches!

I think she tried to be one step ahead by announcing her departure like she did. she knew she was on her way out. everyone at the view knew she was on her way out. thing is, she wanted to control the message and spin it rather than let the execs do it their way. perhaps it exemplifies her need to be seen in a certain light. personally, good riddance to her. I thought she was always posturing, working to present herself in a certain way. I just didn't see chemistry there. But, I cannot wait for Rosie- I think she is going to add some good humor and discussion to that show. I wonder what kind of pre-work contract they had her sign so that she minds her p's and q's--- she can get testy and direct sometimes. I hope she catches Barbara off guard at some point, that would be good!

Who cares.. she was the most annoying person on the show!!! Besides... she wrecked her own position on the show when she got everything to do with her wedding free by asking for companies to donate stuff for it.. she had enough damn money to pay for it.. I think that was disgusting! You and I and most other people have to struggle just to pay our monthly bills... she was making money hand-over-fist on that show and yet she had the balls to ask people to give her stuff... so.. you ask yourself the same question.. then answer it with a YES.. she got a fair deal... I look at it this way.. she made her bed.. now she has to lie in it!
Good ridance.... and let's hope she doesn't suddenly appear on some other show!

Star screwed herself with her smug & "better than you" attitude! Ever since she hooked up with that gay guy (Her hubby now), she inherited his "queen bee" attitude. What she forgot was that you have to be a cross dressing/gay man queen to carry that off.

Also, she may have lost her fat, but you can't lose ugly & stupid.
She burned her own bridge on "The View"...

I say, on with Rosie & whom ever else they get to replace Ms. Star, so long as it is NOT Kathy Lee formerly of 'Live". oh oh oh... I know... they should get Valerie Bertinelli!

i got the feeling they gave her the shaft because in recent interviews she said she was not even close to leaving the view. rosie and her dont get along and rosie (odonell) has much more audience appeal than star, plus stars a *****.

I think the TV execs and the public just was tired of her mouth i believe she over stepped her boundaries. You cant be on top forever the people you snubbed to get where you are is the people you might have to kiss butt to later

Hey, thats the entertainment industry. You don't know if you'll have a job tomorrow. I'm sure she'll be just fine. I think it was fair enough for Hollywood. She didn't keep her word either.
