My husband and I bought our house from a person who loved bamboo. We have been living here for 3 years and can't get rid of it. Our whole backyard is covered with it. we try to cut it down and it grows back bigger and stronger. Whenever it rains it grows faster. We can't let our dogs out for fear the'll be covered in bugs. We can't see any of our neighbors houses on all three sides. When we cut it we have to stack it for the garbage and it spreads everywhere we drag it. Will any place buy it from us? Does anyone know how to KILL IT?

Where are you?? Ask because I might be interested.

I remove bamboo for folks (mostly at time of home sale). The cost depends on how quickly they want it gone, and what they want. If the bamboo is growing along a property-line, my guarantees only apply if bamboo is removed from both sides of property.
Total dig-out is $600/day (3 laborers). I can clear a 25' x 50' section in 7-10 days depending on type of bamboo and denseness of growth. Guaranteed for 5-years, no charge removal of stragglers each Spring and Fall. If the bamboo is healthy, I cut them a deal ($5.00 - 50.00 depending on species) for each 20 gallon pot I make up and remove (generally 7-15 pots/each day). When I am done, they have a nicely tilled garden plot to replant with whatever they desire.

Consulting $ 100.00/hour , $350/day rarely more that 2-3 hours are needed.

You'd have to cut it all down at once, then either knock down every shoot that appears until the plant dies, or spray with Roundup. It's going to be a huge project, and I'd get someone to come and do it for you. Get someone who will gauranttee the work.
