not the technical stuff...I was thinking more like broadcasting...aside from the degree, what other fields can branch off from communications?

advertising, writing, teaching languages, studying languages and culture, public relations and you can also teach people how to improve their communication skills many buisnesses are looking to improve client relations or maintain them(especially where the internet is involved) and there are even more people who need help now a days at networking in all aspects of their lives.

That's basically what I have. Depending on the courses you take (I had to pick a "concentration" in something--I chose journalism), you can get entry-level jobs in advertising, PR/marketing or the news industry. You could possibly get into sales or recruiting (chose something that isn't 100 percent commission when first starting out). Overall, though, you will either have to get an advanced degree or gain significant job experience before you get a good-paying job.

Slightly more than with a degree in liberal arts...

All kidding aside, you can do many things. Com degrees lead into teaching, journalism, writing, broadcasting, public speaking, PR relation (MBA maybe) etc.

Of course, news and broadcasting are included.

Oh and marketing/advertising...esp. w/ an MBA!

Many business and sales jobs love graduates with Comm. Degrees - providing that they really have learned to communicate.

A job where you deal directly with the public, like customer service. Also a job where you provide in house communication like a newsletter or something.

You can do tv/radio broadcasting, print journalism, legal assisting, public relations, administration, human resources, public speaking...and the list goes on!

with a bachelors in anything, you can teach.
maybe you want to teach communications at a high school

an executive for a telephone company,radio station,television station,or maybe even an airport(they have tower communicators,or maybe if you are real lucky,NASA
