If anyone is missing out on the next penny to be squeezed, it's the record company, not the artist. CD's are overpriced and the corporate music industry is a fat tick that needs to be killed.

Downloading copyrighted music for free is not "stealing", it is "copyright infringement". Ask the artists how they feel about it.
But if you think that downloading that stuff for free will kill the corporate music industry, you are dead wrong. You are just supporting them, by distributing and promoting their trash for free.
Start to grown an own taste and promote the Creative Commons licenced tracks and the podsafe podcasts instead of the stuff that is forced down your throat by their payola radio stations.

Stealing from a business is not any more moral than stealing from an artist. It doesn't matter who's selling it. If the going price for something is a buck, and you swipe it without asking the person it belongs to, you are a thief, period. Anyway, how many artists want to do all the distribution themselves? That's grunt work.

how in the hell is it stealing its not like you hacked there data base or somthin these artists make music for us to enjoy and if youl notice the napster case the artists didint give a crap it was the record companys that did and filed the suit i totaly agree that the record companys are ticks and need to die

I don't mean to be rude but people think it is stealing because the person isn't getting payed for their music and thats hearing their music without buying it. Like taking a bite of candy and not paying for it.

The record labels aren't the only ones that aren't getting money. The artists aren't getting their royalties when songs are stolen. Also not getting paid: Producers, engineers, songwriters,

it depends if it is looping the song or not. if u get free music then the artist goes unpaid but if it is looping then it is alright
