we just moved into a new house, and the mosquitos are HORRIBLE, outside and in. i know there's nothing i can do about being outside other then using citronella candles and putting bug spray on, but how can i get them to stop coming into my house?
do they find secret holes in the wall and sneak through there, or is it when i open and close the door to the outside? anyone know if it's safe to burn citronella in your house?
i'm tired of them buzzing around my head when i'm sleeping and biting my feet when i'm watching tv!! help!

Make a trek all over your property and check for standing water anywhere or any containers that can hold water. Empty them and turn upside down or discard. If you do have standing water, mosquitoes will lay their eggs and they will hatch in no time. If you use rain barrels for watering a garden, place a cover over them to prevent mosquitoes from laying eggs. If you have any permanent low spots on your property that holds standing water, pour cooking oil in it. Doesn't take too much, if there is larvae in the water, they can't get out through the oil and will die. As for in the house, I would use a fly swatter and just swat them til gone. Hope this helps.

If I were you, I'd ask Dad to seal up the holes and mosquito highways into the house.
For sleeping us a giant mosquito canope over the bed. Carefully, use a citronella candle on the dresser. Be sure the candle will not ignite anything.
Empty water containers outside the house. Light citronella torches around outside the house.
Inside the house you may us mosquito zappers in each room. A light attracts the mosquito into a statically charged conductive grill. The mosquito gets zapped with high voltage and explodes.

You got problems. First go around your backyard and get rid of all standing water. Skeeters can breed in a coffee cup lid. Candles are limited but out in the market Coleman makes a SKEETER CATCHER so do a couple of others. It involves a propane tank and a catch basin. It mimics the body heat which they sense. Don't go and buy a electric zapper. All they do is kill bugs that don't really do any harm.
Become friends with bats. Make or buy a bat house. They are kinda like a bird house.
As for the inside seal it up. They can come from the roof in the eves or the floor if you are on sona tubes.
Or buy a bug net for your bed.

Mosquito Coils.
Burning mosquito coils indoors generates smoke that can control mosquitoes effectively. This practice is currently used in numerous households in Asia, Africa, and South America.

You need to contact the owner of that property behind your house and have them do something about the standing water. Mosquitoes can carry the West Nile Virus along with many other diseases.

Keep your windows closed, down leave your door open for extensive periods of time. Maybe you could welcome in a few spiders, though that might help, jk. Also, you could buy some bug spray, and spray at the little things in the air until they fall down from being all soaked cuz they can't fly. They you could throw them away.

without being funny here as it is a serious issue and mozzies are very horrible as we all can contest. we also get tired of them buzzing around our heads and find that the biting of feet comes to no good. it must be sad to find that once you move into a new house with all the joys that can bring. to have it all distroyed by those annoying mozzies. any way i digress and the easyest solition to this serious problem is done by closing the door.
