I am terrified of spiders/bugs, etc. The only thing I can think of is that the bugs are attracted to the light and when they get up there the heat from the lightbulb kills them and they are stuck up there until you take the light fixture down to clean it.

actually they crawl in some crack.. like where the bulb is attached to the wires in the ceiling. But then, they can't get out because the bulb is too hot to crawl on. They eventually either fry to death or they die from starvation. Thats why you see dead bugs on the bottom of the light, but you never really see them flying around inside.

Well they are so tiny they can actually fit thru the cracks trying to get to the light(because they are attracted to the light and it seems to be their goal, theyll do anything to get to it{kinda like a mouse or a cat fitting thru the smallest cracks})
