It's called Sven's ugly football.

It's designed to bore the opponents to death leaving us free to march up the pitch and score a single goal.

I don't deny it's worked well so far but it's not going to win us a World Cup.

If they played together all season then they would be excellent, and if the manager didn't keep switching everyone around all the time, maybe they could get used to eachother as a team. However, at least the opposition will have no idea what tactics Sven is going to cook up next.

They can play well, but because (apparently) they have play so many premiership matches in a season they are physically over-stressed - which is why they tire so much in the second halves of matches. The World Cup comes at the end of this season and they're running on fumes!

No other European country places so many demands on its players...

you can tell they are out of practice with playing together, lack of planning and communication and finally poor management.
how can there be just one striker? rooney.
crouch would be better off as a substitute goal post.
why did he take off owen in the early game and he should have played walcott more to give him some experience of the pressure. either he just bought him along for the ride or he is planning to use him for a later game with little experience of stress control.

A lot of them are stars on their own team, and the leader, so they are not used to passing off the ball. They try and do everything themselves, much like they do with their club.

They just put too much pressure on themselves. They need to rely more on their teammates.

all of Englands midfield are centre midfielders so you get 4 in the middle of the park often in each others way and/or the ball hoofed upfield back to the other team when pressurised.

Well we can't have good players if we can't play very well, can we really?

We can, but we haven't need to so far. The competition has been weak.

This weekend is the real test, and wouldnt it be great if ENGLAND won the world cup again, but not putting in to much effort...

:)

COME ON GERMANY TOMORROW!!!

when people say that england are playing terrible think or it this way...
if we were playing as bad as everyone says, how have we ended up this far in the game?

I agree that they are playing crap, but they have won every game except the draw with Sweden.
