I think that he has a tremendously positive psychological influence on the team. I think that spark was missing this year.

Well right now, Red Wings arent even allowed to talk to McCarty. If they do, they may face some stiff consequences from the league. Also, the Red Wings are more concerned about their own players right now (Yzerman, Lidstrom, Shanahan, etc.)

They have to figure out who they still have, and how much cap space they still have before signing anybody else.

Personally, I doubt Wings will sign McCarty. McCarty's game just doesnt suit the new NHL which is more about speed than physicality.

sure why not? I'm not a fan of the Wings and mccarty was better suited for the old nhl.

Yeah, let the Dead Things sign more guys over 30...35...40. that makes sense. You must like losing in rd. 1...gotta get younger period!

I wouldn't bother with him. They have a good team of younger players and if they need more veteran leadership, they should look elsewhere for it. He is past his prime in my mind.

NO...Nashville needs to sign him...he's one of my faves and I don't care for forwards all that much.
