The purpose/meaning of life is to recognize and acknowledge the creator, to conform to the laws of that creator, to give praise and gratitude towards that creator whomever it is that you have chosen. Thats the initial purpose/meaning of our lives, just as the intial responsibility of a child as their growing up is to respect their parents. Well think about it....is our purpose in our lives to simply eat and drink and work and aquire some materials things and enjoy ourselfs?? Well most pleasure seekers, the worldly people who only want to enjoy themselves, who only care about taste and touch and smell and have and possess, who think they have the world in their hand will tell you that. Is that the meaning of life??

I know becuase i have really thought about this, unlike many people its too frightning for them! Not the actual question itself is frightning but whats frightning is that if we answer it clearly, it may change our lives indelibly.

Hope this helps

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping others and other pleasurable 'feel good' pursuits.

I had answered a question similar to this, and the answer that I gave the person asking the question was to be happy and live life to the fullest. There is no right or wrong answer to living because people aren't living the same way as other people. The best you can do is to enjoy your life, find love and be happy until the time comes when you can look back and say that you lived your life to the fullest and you are happy.

To ask and answer the question: "What is the meaning of life?"

If we did not have this question, we would have to meaning to try and find a purpose in our lives.

This one comes up about 35,712 times a week (I exaggerate, somewhat). Go back into the archives and see what others have written. However, according to "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," the definitive answer is "42."

i think that there is no meaning for life, but there is a meaning for you or others to live. the way i see it is that we may have a define plan for our existence, do well and don´t harm, that may feel some gaps.

The meaning of life... no one really knows.
I believe that the maning of life to to take care of the planet we were given.
Now, I don't know if you believe in God, but I do, and I believe he put us here to help his creations to live and grow.
