what should you wear at a 96-year old grandmother's house, with other family members?! Please tell me!?

I am going to my 96-year old great-grandmother's house, that I haven;t been to in 2 years. I have no clue and I have to look great because I haven't seen them in a long while. There will be other family and friends there I know, and havem't seen also. We r probably going to be walking a lot or runnung with the little kids, so what should I wear and do there? I need answers!

She lives half-way across the world so I don't see her very often...

You should wear a knee length skirt (preferably floral) that is dressy but cutting edge. Try using trends like neutrals, florals, white, and cropped pants.I would wear a casual but pretty top. If you don't feel comfy in skirts I have a pic with pants. I have some pics of suggestions for you.

Act like you missed them even if you didn't and be apolegetic, making up excuses like "I'm so busy with work. Why so and so how is your fill in the blank of a job here going?" Bascially add in personal tidbits so people will think you missed them a lot!

dress casual, sort of like you are going to go to church and all of your really good outfits are in the wash. if you wear a t-shirt, make sure there is nothing crude or rude on it. if you have anything pierced besides your ears, take it out for the day, unless you want to chance great grandma having a heart attack

since she lives on the other side of the planet, a visit every other year seems about right, it may take that long to save up for the trip.

i think it depends on the occasion. i would wear some nice and simple capri's (black or white, no denim), and a fitted blouse, (short sleeved if it will be hot, long sleeved if it will be chilly, or you might want to bring a sweater). For shoes, I would wear some open-toed heels if you are an adult, or some NICE thongs if you are a kid. bring a pair of tennis shoes or athletic shoes for when you go walking or playing with the kids.wear whatever amount of jewelry looks good and you feel comfortable with. hope i helped!

Well it matters what state it is in. If it's a regular civilized state go ahead and be respectable. Although, if it's in Arkansas or West Virginia go looking hot!!! Lay a couple 1st cousins, make out with a brother, experiment with an aunt or 2. When in Rome...

I agree with Kim, Just wear something casual, you don't want to look too over dressed nor too raggedy either. Something nice and little make up would be nice. Very Important: wear something comfortable, as you mentioned that probably you will be walking or running.

Something comfortable and sweet looking.... she's 96, she doesn't want to see you in halter top or mini skirt. How about carpi and a cute top? It can be simple- just do a nice job on your hair and makeup.

A nice pair of dark colored (to hide any stains) capri pants (not jeans) and a summer blouse. Nice sandals or Keds.
