Try Game Dr if you or a friend has one. If you don't have one try taking it to Gamestop or EB Games and they'll resurface it for a fee.

Try brushing the disk with toothpaste. Crazy as it sounds, the abrasiveness of the paste can sometimes remove enough scratches to get it to read one more time so you can copy it. I have done this three or four times with success. (And since the disc doesn't work anyways, you can't hurt it.)

If you could get a disc doctor a run it through once or twice it might make it better. I have fixed a few disc that way. Then you can make and copy of the it.

It isn't the best choice, but you could get a disc repair kit, and that way, if you scratch any other games to oblivion, you wouldn't need to get another.
