Hi
I can't get hold of any heat-conductive gel to improve the conduction between my cpu and heat sink. What can I use as an alternative?

I need something proven and tested, not guesses! Thanks folks
Matt

It needs to be household material, as I need to sort this tonight, and I can't get to the shops!
Thanks

if your stuck in a bind.

Toothpaste works okay.

I am not at fault for any fark ups and burn outs.

I have used it before. but expect to change the tooth paste out every two days.

I'd take a trip to radio shack tommorow. they sell thermal paste for 2.99 there.

Go to radio shack and get "thermal grease". This is the "gel" you are referring to. Only use a BB sized droplet of it, too much will also burn the processor up. Don't use toothpaste, you'll spend more $$$ on a new processor if you do that!
