In short I am asking what is one women's body worth when she (who ever it maybe) is then offered money to stay quite about it? (I'm just using this case as an example... and to make a point too).

I was very skeptical of this "jakki" person's credibility, but the paper did say, "The Wilmington Journal has confirmed that an NCCU student organization that collected thousands of dollars to donate to the woman could not get her to take it, and is still holding on to the money. The Rev. Jesse Jackson publicly offered to pay her college tuition through his Rainbow/PUSH organization, and the NC NAACP has had several discussions with the family about setting up a fund. All efforts got a polite “Thanks, but no thanks,” but apparently many of the alleged victim’s most vocal critics are unaware of her unflinching stand."
...which leads me to believe she is not in this for $$. I am not sure why the victim would do anything to harm the school or her own reputation if $$ is not a factor. It is also not hard for me to believe that a bunch of spoiled, overpriviledged kids who have been getting away with everything all of their lives feel as though they could treat someone like crap and get away with it... I am torn... the whole thing is an unfortunate situation... and to finally answer your question... the duke alums who offered her $2m need to find a better cause than this one -- a woman's body -- a person's body for that matter is irreplaceable and thus priceless.

Ones woman's body is priceless, but she wasn't a woman. She is a lier and the district attorney used the case and the media to get re-elected. I have a better question. What are 3 innocent Duke lacrosse players futures worth?

I think that this issue is SO big because the media has pretty much put those women on trial instead of the students accused. I feel for those women that have had to endure the things that they have had to deal with, not only from the media, but from Duke themselves. So I think that with that said, 2 mil is getting off cheap.

Until these guys are proven guilty or not guilty you can't really make a call on the truth behind any of this.

We know these guys are racist pricks but we don't know for sure if they are racist rapist pricks.

PS: I have seen alot of sick and disgusting writing (I once picked up a girlfriends Danielle Steele book and was scarred for life), but just because it is written doesn't mean its true. Everybody should hold off making any judgements until the case goes through.

There are so many holes in that woman's case I can't even believe any prosecutor is wasting his time with it. The DNA showed the three boys did not have sex with her. Her statements were wildly different from her other statements, beyond simply forgetting some details. Maybe she was raped, maybe she had consensual sex with some one there, maybe she had sex with no one there. The key is the evidence released so far points indicates a rape did not occur.

The 2 mil does not represent the woman's body. It represents the amount that Duke is ponying up to end this situation and negative publicity. If I were her, I'd take the $ and run; she's lying about the whole situation.

The statement by "Jakki" is hearsay and would never be admissible in court.

No respectable newspaper would print such an allegation without independent second-party confirmation. The Wilmington Journal is acting irresponsibly by publishing the information.

Let's check the stripper's W2 from last year, then multiply that by the number of years she will be able to sell her body = body worth. This is a skank stripper whose body isn't even appreciated by her. She sells sex, she is garbage. As for what her soul is worth, that will be determined by whether she is telling the truth....we will find out!
