Do you understand this statement, "Lifes' like an hourglass glued to the table"? I do, and if you do to, then can you explain it? (this is from a song)

I do understand. An hourglass has sand in it and it eventually all reaches one side and then you flip it to the other side to see it again. If it is glued to the table, that means that once your life runs out its over: you can't redo or restart things that already happened.

I love that song...Breathe...by Anna Nalick

'Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable
and life's like an hourglass glued to the table
No one can find the rewind button, girl
So cradle your head in your hands
And breathe.

You only have so much time in your life, when you die it's over.
The sand going to the bottom of the hourglass represents the time you have in your life. When the sand is gone, you're gone and you can't turn it over and do it again because it's glued to the table.

it means once the hourglass runs out of sand, you can't turn it upside down again & start over because it's glued down. meaning, once your life is over/once you do something, you can't turn it back. what song is this btw??

you can't reverse it? yeah, because you can't turn over an hourglass glued to a table.

You only get one time around in this life (i.e., you can't turn over the hourglass and start time again).

I'd have to hear the entire song, but it sounds like someone is trying to explain that you only have so much time on this planet. You can't turn the hour glass over to get more time. When it's your time to die, you're gone.
