Do your best to keep things civil. Get a lawyer and make sure you get what you want, but choose your battles wisely. Don't jump into another relationship right away. You can remarry, but make sure you don't see any of the warning signs that you did in the past. Be more selective about who you date, and wait for the right guy...he's out there. Enjoy time being single, hang out with your friends, and take this time to heal and learn more about yourself, what went wrong and how you can prevent things from going bad again in the future. Good Luck. I have been through what you are going through. And it was really difficult, but I am so much happier.

Yea, what ever you do don't get married again. Oh yea take everything you own and lock it in a storage room or sell it. Before your divorce is final. Unless you want your spouse to have half of everything.

IF THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE EACH OF YOU SIGN A PAPER SAYING THERE HAS NEVER BEEN. DO THIS EVEN IF YOU FEEL THE SPOUSE WOULD NEVER MAKE SUCH A FALSE CLAIM. THIS COULD BE FOR THE BENEFIT OF BOTH OF YOU. WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT THROW A BOGUS RESTRAINING ORDER.

well if you have kids, then don't pressure them into switching houses and going back and forth! it is terrible for the children! don't be vicious and talk about your ex in front of his kid either because that isn't a good thing!
