The Simpsons Comic Book Guy would say, "Worst Movie Ever!"Seriously, Superman Returns was THE WORST COMIC BOOK MOVIE EVER MADE to date. Plain and simple...Understand something...I said worst COMIC BOOK movie EVER MADE. Its like a movie telling us the sky is green when we know damn well its blue! It went against everything that is Superman. Bryan Singer should be...hmm...stoned or atleast beaten an inch from his life LIVE on TV for this horrible piece of crap! And for all you pricks wholl say "relax its just a comic book, you must be a comic book nerd!" F**k you, if theres something you take interest in like a book or real life story, and you then hear its going to be made into a movie, your ganna hope they stay true to the f'ing story right?!?! So please, shut the hell up.

You will not meet a movie fan who is a BIGGER fan than I am. I used to LOVE going to movies, sitting in the dark with others like myself and forgetting the world for a couple hours, being engrossed in a good story with believable, sympathetic characters.

That being said, I havent gone to the movies in probably 12 years. Now I just wait til they come out on DVD. Mostly because of high ticket prices and the extraneous crap which going to a movie includes now. However, if the movie was compelling enough, I would go to the movies again.

Problem is, none of what Hollywood's offering is even CLOSE to compelling enough. I'm not paying for parking (and more than likely coming out to find my car broken into), a $12.00 dollar ticket to get in, and then get to watch COMMERCIALS until the movie starts? And theater owners wonder why their theaters are empty? Again, all of these issues could be overlooked if the movies being offered were well written, well produced and not dripping with unrealistic-looking CGI effects every time you blink.

Superman Returns? Who cares? The story's lame. Without story, I dont care how many effects you pump into a movie, its gonna suck.

I think Hollywood's biggest problem is, its not set up to produce another Orsen Welles, someone with the talent to get his movie made HIS way. Every major decision about a movie being made is made by COMMITTEE, and this is no way to run a movie studio. Executives with no formal training in movies make multi-million dollar decisions without ever looking up from their calculators.

Eventually, the movie going public will realize how much theyre being manipulated into liking some piece of crap onscreen, simply because of a clever ad compaign. The Movies lie to us about how good they are (or arent), and we dont complain or ask for our money back. Once we start doing this, we send a message saying we wont be conned by you ANYMORE. If this happens enough, the studios will be forced get rid of the execs who greenlight movies based on the title and "Focus Groups" opinions, or go out of business forever.

Take heart movie fans. These things are cyclic. We go thru a couple years of crap on screen, people get fed up, then the studios start making movies people want to see again.
