Of course the title is a contradiction! There's no such thing as anything but! That fat-*** is just copping out on love, when he should be happy he even has some in the first place, because he's mad gross.
Now, let's examine what it is that Meatloaf would not do for love... many suspect it is cheating on his partner, however, I disagree. I would do anything for love but I won't do cheating? (that) No, no, no...cheating would just be for sex, and he would lose out on the love, so he surely wouldn't be cheating for love. And that whiny girl singing with him is trying to find out what he wouldn't do by asking him various things, to which he responds he will do. But just telling her he won't cheat on her, he's just being reassuring, not telling her what it is he won't do.
Nixing a sexual act? Nah - like I said before, that beast would be lucky to have someone to get it on with, so I don't think he's denying anything on that front.
Running around a castle doing a pathetic imitation of Beauty and the Beast...maybe that is something he shouldn't have done for love, but that's not it either.
So what is it that Meatloaf would not do? It parallels another famous unanswerable question...Just how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop? The world may never know...

It's a contradiction, but "I Would Do Most Anything For Love, But I Won't Do That" is a bit long for a song title, even by Meatloaf's standards.
Secondly, I've heard rumors it was about his wife not wanting to have a certain type of sex.

Yes, I do think the title is a contradiction.
And I have wondered that vey question myself, I asked my husband the other day what it was that Meatloaf wouldn't do. He says it's in the song.

I definitely think it's a contradiction. If he won't do THAT, then he won't do ANYTHING for love! And I think he's talking about SEX when he says he won't do that because, well, look at these lyrics...
And some days it don't come easy,
And some days it don't come hard
Some days it don't come at all,
And these are the days that never end.
If it don't COME easy OR hard, then you can't have sex! So therefore, I think he means that he won't have sex. He just wants the love. :)

Yeah, it's a bit of a contradiction, and i found out that he would never CHEAT on his girlfriend. u have to listen to the lyrics real closely, but that's it. the girl who sings a duet with him in that song says something about him with another woman, and he says, "no i won't do that"

As a friend of mine is fond of saying, everything before the "but" is BS. You know, "You're a pretty girl, but..." "I like the dinner you made, but..." "I'm sorry, but..." See, you know the girl isn't pretty, the dinner tasted foul, and the person isn't sorry.
What is it that he wouldn't do? Give up Meatloaf, of course!

no the title isn't a contradiction because he's not saying he wouldn't do something for love he's sayng he wouldn't cheat on her because later in the song she says "sooner or later you'll be messin' around" and he says "no i wont do that"
