hi i have 9 tarantula and was given a chilli rose that was "so called aggressive" that would go for the water and anything that got in its way including it viv and plant pot! what i done was fed it very regularly may be twice a week and within 4 weeks it had calmed down.
I also have a pink toe who are meant to be placid and mine will go for you if you take the lid of the viv it is very very territorial.

You also need to look at environment what is it on? look at the food you are given it? does it need hoppers/ mice instead of crickets? heat is it too hot or too cold, Does it have some were to hide Tarantulas like to hide. How big is the viv. Are you bugging the tarantula more often than you normally do? is there more noise in thew environment recently?

Or it could even be the rose now thinks its big enough to start having ago at you and isn't scared of your presents anymore!!

STRESS! has her environment changed? Is she eating well? Try changing food supply. Clean her area of any un devoured food. Adjust lighting, temperature. For now, make water bowl fillable without reaching into the cage. Do you have a cat or other pet that may be aggravating her when you are not around? Have you always handled her? Lots of things to consider that may be aggravating her. Tarantulas instinctively guard against attack from above by raising up toward anything overhead. They can even be fed by dangling dog food or other foodstuff on a thread.
Tarantula bites are rarely much worse than a bee sting. When trying to handle her don't be nervous and pick her up from above with thumb and finger between the front four and back four legs. Lift her quickly straight up but don't squeeze her hard. Tarantulas have no skeleton only a tough outer skin, be careful not to drop her even a small fall could seriously injure her.

First of all it's a "Chilean Rose hair Tarantula" that should help you do research via the net.. Now if he/she is raring up on its hind legs with front legs completely off the ground it's mad at you or finds you suddenly a target for anger or something similar.. but if it's just acting aggressive it's in need of a mate. Do some serious research cause he/she could be just miserable and a miserable pet isn't a good one. Good luck! Mine lived 5 years happily in captivity and even had a new tank mate for 3 of the 5 years.. then she killed him.. but no mating.. just death.

your tank may need to be bigger if she has shed as they grow each time they shed their skin it may be a territory thing due to lack of size. She may see your hand as an invading spider!Apparently this type of spider is one of the harder to keep and prefer little handling. The tank should be about 60cm x 30cm x 30cm for a fully grown adult spider. I can't really suggest anything else, sorry :(

yes they get rowdy when it is mating time. She is more than likely a female as males don't live that long. It happens about this time of year. She will more than likely calm down toward end of summer.

Serves you right for having a wild animal locked up for a pet!

she may need a bigger environment and when she is not getting it it's making her more and more nervous about her environment and her ability to survive in it
