As long as there are different races, there will be racism.

Yes to both questions. I think everyone has racist beliefs, but it's what you do with them that makes the difference. Not one person can say that they've never said a racial slur, to the person of the other race or a person of the same race, and if they do, they're lying to your face. We've all grown up with misconceptions about those who are different from us.

I still think that white people smell like wet dog in the rain. This was something that I heard while I was young, and I hold on to that belief. But, I still associate with white people, and I have one who's a very good friend. She's shared some things with me that have been racist as well, but we don't let it get in the way of our friendship. That's the difference between a racist and a bigot. Hope this helps and email me if you'd like to know more.

I think many people are still racist. People still don't accept others and continue to hold prejudice against others. It seems to me an issue that we as humans can never avoid or destroy. I'm not a rascist in any form i strongly believe people shouldn't judge others by anything. I guess rascism is part of human nature and part of history. We saw it here in the United States with the african american, chinese, irish, and mexicans. We saw it in Europe with the jews. You can even say racism is as american as apple pie.

Yes, there are many people who are still racist but unfortunately, it is not as blatant as it was years ago. It is inherent in the stereotypes that we continue to allow migrate in our minds and pass on to future generations.

I am not racist but I have to admit that I do still have some stereotypes embedded. I work hard not to fall prey to believing them as true for each person of a particular color.

I never thought at my young age I would experience it but things like, white students not wanting to sit with me and my friends at a table when there was ample room, not being invited to a campus party because I'm not white (hell, a party is a party), or not coming to a campus party because it will be majority black or latino. We even say, "Oh, I feel more comfortable with my own kind." When reality is, you might have more fun in a different environment than you want to admit. You might want to put together a more scientific survey; it will give you some results to use in your research.

I am not sure if it is only racism but stereotyping and generalisation have a lot to do with it. Individuals will rather believe existing stereotypes rather than search for the truth themselves. This lack of knowledge -or rather a complacency in not knowing- leads people to make pronouncements and judgements on people of other races that is deemed racist.

I am more of a tribalist than I am of a racist because I do not know that many people outside of my race. Because I am from a country that is 98% a particular race. I have shared in jokes against other tribes but never discriminated against anyone for any reason based on their tribe.

I am undertaking studies in a country that has a huge population of several ethnicities and I have learnt not to participate in stereotyping because I have found them to be mostly false- either positive or negative stereotyping. Individuals represent themselves, not the race they are from and when we overgeneralise, we do not give people a chance in knowing them for the persons they are.

Although I do not yet know a lot of people from a lot of races, I have learnt to deal with individuals as just that- individuals. Instead of seeing them first as a race .

I guess we need to learn how to spell it first. LOL

Racism is very prolific and goes far beyond just black and white; it's not that simple anymore. I, unfortunately, know many racists and only condone it because of the very premise of the symbol called the American flag.

A good place to start your research is to find out how the media directly affects how we think.

Somethings you do not have to research. Sure they are people that dont like any race but their own, and they are always complaining about what someone has said or done to their race. No not a raciest here.Got friends from all races but they dont complain about other races they just go with the flow.

I am a white woman, married to a black man in the USA and I want to assure you that racism is alive and well. We have been married for 17 years. I can go on and on on racism, there is racism between Jews and Palestinians, for example; there is racism in many foreign countries.... in my case, the most racism was directed at me from the Black community (openly). I must say, though, that I have often been aware, that there was other forms taking place within whites as well, they were just hidden (backstabbers) trying to be Politically Correct.
