I would say yes as it would save and COULD have saved so many young lives.
It'd probably lose a good few of the paedo's lives as I'm sure they would be targeted but hey, I don't condone any form of violence but one less paedo = safer children!

Since paedophiles are already registered, I think the only information that should be given to parents is their names and area location that does not include their address. They have the right to privacy, too.
Paedophiles are everywhere-in the schools, churches, and family as well as your own neighborhood. So, the people you least expect could be a paedophile who never got caught. Knowing who these people are may ease your mind, but like they say, "you can run but you can't hide." Bottom line people, keeping your children safe is your job and responsiblity.
Don't put yourself in a situation to blame others because you didn't do your job. When you put that kind of trust in man, it means making a sacrifice whether you know it or not. So, don't sacrifice child(ren) because you didn't do what you were supposed to.
Keeping paedophiles out of your neiborhood is not an easy task. They need a place to live to. Parents just have to be mindful and watchful in their own environments or somebody else will. Do not put too much trust in man because if you do, betrayal will be staring you in the face. A good example is when Peter denounced Jesus three times. Trust in God, not man.
As long as the addresses are not included in the information, yes, I think parents should know so that they can take extra precaution in keeping their child(ren) safe.

Personally I think that any convicted paedophile should never be allowed back into society. As that is never going to happen, I think that if a known paedophile moves into the area all residents should be told so that the children can be protected. There should also be more of a police presence to make sure that they don't re-offend.

I would say no. I think that to do so would be likely to increase the number of vigilante attacks, driving paedophiles not to disclose where they are living and go on the run. Parents can protect their children just as well by making the reasonable assumption that their children are not safe unsupervised. Just because you know no paedophile is living near you doesn't mean that there isn't going to be one around.

Controverisally, no.
It just wouldn't work. As soon as the information is released, the person has to move. We aren't responsible enough as a public to deal with the information. You've either got to keep them locked up until they die, monitor them more effectively, or let them live in little groups in the middle of nowhere. I think the second option is only real the way, but it's never going to be perfect. The whole thing is just part of an imperfect world and people want perfect answers.

Your local police department should already have those lists available, they even give photos of these people because they are required by law to register every year with law enforcement. They even have a search engine where you could type in your zip code and they can give you all of those who are within a certain miles radius from your address.
I think it's defniately information that everyone has a right to especially those with children, if I had the choice I wouldn't want to move near them. Know what I mean?
What's your take on it?

Absolutely, I had two different convicted paedophiles living in my street and had no idea until one of them tried to lure kids into his house and they both were forced to leave the area, if I had of known I would have been able to safeguard my kids better and let them know to be on their guard against them. A disgrace.
I'm in the UK and no list of paedophiles is made available to the public.

Being a parent, I would say Yes!
You can go to your local state police's website and get a list of people who have been charged with sex crimes in your area, but the trouble is some of these lists are not up to date and some of these criminals, who by law are supposed to let there local authorities know were they are don't do it. So it's a 50/50 chance on how accurate these lists really are.

Yes of course. If this happens these sickos will think twice before committing further crimes against innocent children. Note to PAM : So you think someone who molests and sexually abuses children should have rights to privacy?! Are you insane?! They should be publically humiliated and castrated and I think the Human Rights Act should be amended asap. These scum don't deserve rights.

Um.... YES! Why should they have any right to privacy? Did they think about the rights of the children they molested?
