By selling its products and services at more than they cost to produce which is called profit. Once you have covered all your costs including taxes, and have something extra to take home in the form of money, you gain a reward for your trouble.

Perhaps at one time there was only one way for a company to make a profit and that was by selling a product for more than it paid for the raw materials. Today a company like Amazon sells books but does not have any books. They are a middle man between the buyer and the seller. Ebay works the same way and makes a nice profit with nothing to sell but they have subscribers who want to both buy and sell.
Today fortunes are made by selling services and ideas. Insurance companies sell ideas while banks sell a service and both are very profitable. The best businessmen today think outside the box and shift their paradigms to make money when others can't even see the market.

Your question is unclear, however
A company goes into debt to begin business. It floats bonds, sells stock, or gets private funding with a promissory note to repay it.
Then, when it makes money, it repays everyone. If the idea/product makes alot of money and costs little to produce, and you acquire such a company - then the company pays for itself over time because it's a source of income.

With profits.
Example:
Bills cost $600.00
You have $1000.00
That means you made $400.00 in profits. Smart buisness owners try to pay all loans off as quick as possible. Then ALL the money after bills are in pocket profits!!
