Couple of suggestions.
Samba de Verao (Summer Samba) - this is quite an old song, and may be in the time frame you are looking for, but I like the version more recently performed by Bebel Gilberto. You can sample this song at

Also, you might check out the sound of Pink Martini. While influenced by music from the first half of the century, they have their own unique sound. In particular, listen to Amado Mio (Sympatique album) and Una Notte a Napoli (Hang on Little Tomato)

Frank Sinatra is always good. The Way you Look Tonight, They Can't Take That Away From Me, and Come Fly With Me all might work well.
A Kiss to Build a Dream on by Louis Armstrong is also good
Good luck

It depends in choosing an answer as to what level of music one is seeking. For instance, There are classical, light classical, operetta,
jazz, big band, ballad, instrumental, Broadway and film score choices, as well as folk and western and ethnic dance music sources to choose from.
Three possibles:
1. Artie Shaw's orchestra--"Begin the Beguine"
2. Miklos Rozsa's "Spellbound" Concerto
3. Dvorak's New World Symphony, Main Theme
Enjoy!
