When I know my boyfriend is working hard, I text him saying "Just wanted to say I love you and miss you. Have a great day baby." He almost always text back within seconds of receiving the message. And call 5 minutes later. Letting him know you are thinking about him will make him smile!

I know what makes me smile when i get texted-someone i know once told me i have a nice voice after talking on the phone; "i love you" is always a good one, but only use it if you really LOVE them.
Also, tell him youre thinkign about him or cant get him out of your head and cant wait 'till you see him again, and tell him you miss him.
Gets me every time. ;]

Though we're both busy working, I just wanted to say I miss you and I'm thinking of you. Later, Baby.
(Shorten the message)

Send him the dirtiest text... Telling him what you'd like to do to him, and attach a dirty pic of yourself...

how about a ramantic poetry?
here is one!
Come to me in my dreams, and then
By day I shall be well again.
For then the night will more than pay
The hopeless longing of the day.
Come, as thou cam'st a thousand times,
A messenger from radiant climes,
And smile on thy new world, and be
As kind to others as to me.
Or, as thou never cam'st in sooth,
Come now, and let me dream it truth.
And part my hair, and kiss my brow,
And say My love! why sufferest thou?
Come to me in my dreams, and then
By day I shall be well again.
For then the night will more than pay
The hopeless longing of the day.
