I can't believe why everyone is so against the Italians. I hear people calling the Azuuri the only team that doesn't deserve to be in the Quarters.
If it's because of the diving...all teams dive and cheat! The Portuguese are a fine example of that!
Yes Italy got lucky last game with the penalty but there was no way the Aussies would have scored anyway. Italy has the best Goalie in the world and the best defence!! Watch for them in the final...
now those who state that Ukraine vs. Italy will be a snooze fest, then you probably are not aware that Shevchenko played for Milan and betrayed the Italians for going to Chelsea. As far as I'm concerned that's basis for Drama!

I think there is bias and major hatred towards the Italian Nation and people use football as a way to express their feelings....very sad.

I can't understand why everyone is so against the Italians either.
I'm rooting for them, but at the same time I'm aware they are not the best team in this world cup. Argentina or Brazil would knock them off. Even Germany, maybe. However, they are not as bad as some people are saying. Not worse than France, Portugal, and even England.
I'm not happy about the way they won the match against Australia because it gave way to all sorts of evil-tongued comments -- they paid the referee, they are cheaters, they are parasites, they didn't deserve to win, etc, etc.
If they suck, Shevchenko will kick them back home tomorrow. Should that happen, it will at least stop the evil-tongued comments.
If they win, I hope they do without controversy, like they did over Ghana or the Czech Republic. That will stop the evil-tongued comments too.
Players dive in almost every team. The problem with what happened during the Italy vs Australia game is that the penalty was conceded at the very last minute. Plus, it was Australia's first world cup after many years, and they had done fairly well, so that kind of killed their hopes. But that doesn't justify all the hatred towards the Italian team, or, even worse, Italy as a nation.

The game was a bit of a snooze fest...I thought Ukraine played badly against Italy.....BTW, who cares what people say about the Italians, it's jealousy...Italians know how to live better than anyone in the world!

Were did the Portuguese cheat? Did Deco cheat into being booked for the second time just for holding the ball in his hands for a second? Did the Portuguese cheat when Holland decided to ignore all rules of fair play and didn't return a ball after it was deliberately put out because of a player's injury. Did Figo cheat because he got elbowed in the face by the same player that almost broke Cristiano Ronaldo's leg and didn't get the red card he deserved? Did the Portuguese cheat in almost scoring the second (for three times) while playing with nine players instead of defending the 1-0 lead?
Go learn something about football before writing stupid commentaries...

You called it a snooze fest. That is exactly what the Ukraine team wants Italy to do. Once Italy makes that mistake they could be out of the tournament. It is unlikely, but believe me they are not taking Ukraine lightly.

Italy has a much stronger team than the Ukrainians. If they play offensively like in the game against Ghana and as Lippi promised, I don't think we are going to see a snooze fest. Against Australia they were forced to play defensively because they were one man down and Hiddink's men dominated the midfield.

get over yourselves.the whole team is under investigation,coaches,team members etc, they have to keep a low profile,don't they,Italy is here because of a free kick if not they would be out. look at euro 2004 Greece and Portugal,,regardless the outcome we all celebrated together.Italians would never do something like that, VINCE GET YOUR FACTS TOGHTER ABOUT THE PORTUGUESE YOU AND ALL THE ITALIANS WILL BE VERY VERY SURPRISED. ITaly sucks! their coached paid the ref's to give them the games....pleaze, you italians keep dreaming you will get past brazil, england, argentina..lol, italy winning an actual game without the ref's help? hmm..that' would be the day I think they deserve to be in there.
all the italian teams are under investigation for illegal bettin and other law breaking...the controversy follows their winny behinds everywhere
