I have a rather large horse just at 18.1 hands, usually I take the horses in my trailer but I just don't think that this mare would be comfy, should I ship them in a box stall or just let the professional hauler advise or do you have any suggestions about who to use as a professional hauler that ships throughout the USA?

Box stall, no doubt.

Commercial shipper with air-ride trailer.

Talk to your trainer, or breeder who ships a lot. See what they recommend.

My recommendation: Blue Chip or Steffee

I would be more comfortable hauling my horse myself. That way I could rest and exercise her when I thought she needed it. There are many proffessional haulers you could find. I also know someone who Fed Ex a horse from Alaska to Kentucky. So it can be done.

Whatever you decide to do, make sure you research the companies thoroughly. We were trying to ship a horse from Oregon to Wyoming and got scammed out of $3000 plus all the vet bills that you have to have done ahead of time for the shipment. (Don't forget to have all of this done prior to the arrival of the company. They should tell you exactly what they will need.) Trust your instincts and ask for verifiable references.

A nice box trailer is the way to go. I'd get about 7-10 bids, and then pick one of the middle bids. Or you could get yourself a bigger trailer.
