The first time that I was amazed about being alive was when I was waking up in Intensive Care. It was "Twilight Zone" when 7 doctors in surgical masks and scrubs surrounded my bed. My horse had thrown me when we were crossing a concrete bridge. I underwent brain surgery (after they shaved my long hair).
Another time I accidentally drove my car into the opposing traffic lanes and crashed it down a ravine...because the sun got in my eye (while I was speeding). When I clicked my seat belt open, I simply climbed out the window and up the side of the hill.
Yes, I'm amazed that I'm alive, but I always EXPECT the best possible outcome in any challenging situation, and I've been in many (some caused by my foolishness and some by others). It's by the grace of god that I'm still here. I continue to volunteer and be charitable toward others since I STILL CAN contribute positively to the global community (if I should not be alive one day...MANY decades from now, I hope). Ironically, I'd be shocked if I had died!

It does amaze me, sometimes. So many possible paths to death, and somehow I haven't gone down any of them yet. Then again, I'm only 19... but hey, that's 19 years I haven't been shoved out of yet. My dad just turned 50 the other day, and he said, "Well, I've made it through another year." It does feel like that sometimes.
What amazes me even more is how many people there are in the world, and how we can all possibly live together. It's awe-inspiring... at times. :)

Yes it amazes me all the time that I am alive. Not only that I am alive, but that I have given life (I have 3 children) and nourished life (I breasfed exclusively for a few months). It's amazing that because of a random pairing of an egg and sperm, I am here, my children are here and my friends are here. Just a moment in either direction could have resulted in my not existing. Wow.

I think that the word "amazed" is just a little bit exaggerated. However, I feel wonderful that I am alive at this time - rather than at any other time, or place. Huh? The alternative would be hard to associate with, I think!

Yes. When I had internal hemorrhaging that almost bled me out and later woke up in a hospital bed, repaired but alive. I couldn't believe it. When I closed my eyes in the operating room I thought those nasty lights were the last thing I was ever going to see.

I was created and so i live. I am amazed how everything in our bodies work together for the good of us. I think therefore I am. The philosopher who said that hit it right on the head. I think it was Hume. Anyways everyday is a gift, enjoy it, treat it right, and live the life god intended you too.

I was in a terrible car accident and grew up and now live in a neighborhood of violence and drugs where I was offered drugs and alcohol in school. And I have seen other children beating my friend with a brown stick until the stick broke. I know there was only one that I have escaped the biggest tragedies: God...

do you know the story of the Phoenix that dies and is reborn at the same time. Can you imagine or believe someone can be consumed in a FIRE and die instantly and at the same outside time be reborn the same but a new being entirely. To look death in the face and accept it because it was what you deserved and one did not deserve the cleansing creative life fire of LOVE. BELIEVE.

Yeah, just thinking about some of the dumb stuff I did as a child and teenager makes me wonder how I'm ALIVE. Good question :-)
