People do crazy things for love because of the strong and powerful ties we humans associate with the emotions of love.
Television, other media, and the way we grow up are all factors of how people react to love. Because of love we often get hurt, and that pain mixed with mental emotions can drive a person to do things they may not normally do.
The green eyed monster known as jealously also affects the behavior and the way people act "4" love.

Love is an intellectual aspect of the survival instinct. The need to breed and continue the species is very high on the survival instinct check list. Because of this, the upper brain’s filter does not kick is as it would for a question involving something like rocket science. So with the upper brain filter on recess, the primal brain gets a larger signal path to communicate its opinion on the matter. Because the primal brain is, in a word primitive, the chance for stupid things to occur is much greater.
As an example, most physical violence occurs between or because of romantic interest.
Thus it is much easier to be a fool in love, than just be a fool, because one defenses are much weaker in matters of love.

for most of the first part of your life you are single. so when you are in love with someone, you are not 100% sure how you are supposed to act. so you end up doing some crazy things in the name of love. also when you are in love you would do anything for that person. so you might do things to show them just how much you love them. even if it is crazy to other people, to you it might seem normal.

Love must touch us. At its root, love is an instinct, and it must come naturally. If we try too hard to show it, it loses its true meaning.
People do crazy things for love because sometimes it comes from the heart. Sometimes they do crazy things for love because they fool themselves of being capable to love.

There are only a hand full of animals on this planet that feel love.. we are one of them. Love is an uncontrolled feeling.. you can't make it go away, you can't make yourself feel it either.
We all do crazy things for love at some point in life.. sometimes it worth it.. sometimes it's not.

Before we understand why people do crazy things for love, I think we have to understand what love is. When God made man and woman, he made us to be a pair. To complete one another. He gave men strengths in areas where he made women weak, and made women strong in areas where men are weak. Everything about our very being, is extremely well thought out. Let's take just one example...God made man the provider and woman the care-taker. Now if God had given man all the strengths he gave women, let's picture this man going out into the wilderness to kill food for his family....can you really picture him frollicking along saying "oh, look, these berries will make lovely potpouri"...then along comes bambi...can you imagine him thinking to himself "oh this is somebody's mother, i can't kill this deer"...The point is, we wouldn't survive...God gave men the strength to go out and kill the deer...he also gave woman the strength to make a nice home environment for man to feel good when he comes home. He gave man a strong sexual desire so that after he killed the deer, he would remember to go back home with it. He gave woman a lesser sexual desire so that she would stay faithful while he was out killing the deer.
So with our strengths and weaknesses, we spend most of our lives searching for one person to fill the void part in our lives and to make up for those weaknesses. The one person that will complete us and make us a whole...someone to love us enough to say- I'm going to be there for you no matter what. So perhaps, this desire to be complete is so strong for some people, that they temporarily lose their sanity and do things they ordinarily would not do in order to satifsy it.

i personally think people do crazy things for love because they are too deep in love and they follow what their heart tells them to do for love.
