I had a warrant issued and was arrested for negotiating a worthless instrument (check). I plead guilty and paid the fine. Will it prevent me from getting an apartment?

Shouldn't, but some renters may look at that and avoid you like the plague, but you'll find someone eventually to rent from.

Depends on the tenant critera that the apartment complex or owners use. Look at it this way, most people pay rent with a check...........Wouldn't you look at someone like yourself twice?

It's just up to luck on that one. I was an apartment manager. We turned down anyone that had anything on their record. We also did a criminal search too.
Good Luck. I think you will need it. You could try telling them you will only pay in cash or money order!!!!

It can effect your chances of getting the apartment if the apartment complex utilizes a criminal background check such as Vantage Data
