Yes, it is possible to take a blood test too early. If you take it before your body has realized you conceived, there is no way to get a positive reading, even if you *did* have an egg that got fertilized!

Women ovulate about 2 weeks (typically 12-16 days) before their *next* period. It takes about a week to a week and a half after ovulation for the fertilized egg to reach the uterus and start implanting. Until implantation, the zygote isn't attached to your body in any way and can't cause physical changes. So it can take up to 2 weeks after sex before you are even really pregnant. A test before that time will *always* be negative.

If you had an early to average implantation time, 5 days before your period would have been plenty of time. But if you conceived, and it took the zygote a little longer to travel down the Fallopian tube, it was too early. Try again in a few days...

Good luck!!

It is way too early for an enlarged stomach if you are pregnant. Frequent urination can be caused by any number of reasons. If you think you might be pregnant, try a home pregnancy test or go back for another blood test. Blood tests just measure HCG in your blood just like the home tests measure it in your urine, so 5 days before your expected period could be too early for that too. In addition, unless your periods are like clockwork, it is possible you miscalculated when your expected period would be. If you feel pregnant, test again. If you are, it wouldn't hurt to get early prenatal care, and if you're not, you can stop worrying about it.

I think you should go get a EPT test over the counter pregnancy test. I know someone that for some reason her blood work came out neg. but she took a urine and it came out positive. Then she had an ultra sound done and she was pregnant.
You should do it soon!!!
Or request an ultra sound, from your OBGYN.

A blood test will show you are pregnant 6 days after conception and is 100% accurate.

Take a at home test now to see if you are pregnant cause if you are it should be showing up.
