There are a lot of former Cincinnati (and Ohio) residents now living in the pacific northwest. Portland is actually called "The Cincinnati of the west". But that's moot since you don't want to go west.

It really depends on what you are looking for. If you want to say in a similar size community and you have ruled out everything that is west or south, I'd say your best bets would be Columbus, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Milwaukee, and Baltimore. Richmond is nice too but a little smaller.

If you are willing to step up in size and stay "midwest", I'd give Chicago a look.

Cities I've been to that felt close to Cincinnati in one way or another are:

Columbus, OH
Dayton, OH
Pittsburgh, PA
Madison, WI
Milwaukee, WI
Indianapolis, IN
Erie, PA
Minneapolis, MN
Des Moines, IA

It really depends on if you want to move somewhere with a lot to do or whether you want to move to a city with good job prospects, or other reasons.

A website I would recommend is http://www.city-data.com/toplists.html This website lists the top 100 cities with populations of 5,000+ by category, such as most diverse, shortest commuting times, fastest growing cities, safest cities, youngest residents, oldest residents, etc. Take a look and maybe you might be surprised at what you find :)

Good luck!

Almost any town or city has a web site on the net. If you have some idea of where you would LIKE to go just do a search for that place and research it. Also bookstores and libraries have a lot of resource material you can use.

Good luck. Hope you find what you like.

I can't blame you for not liking cincy I go to school there at UC but I live in Dayton...Dayton is not too far north and it's nice in some parts, and not too far if you want to drive back to cincy. You can always go to the library and find some books on cities...Good Luck!

Goto Louisville, Its far enough away that you can leave whatever behind and close enough to slip back into town with just an hour drive.

Why cant you move to where you are close to your family and friends? Maybe a 'change of scenery' will do you good.
