My County only has 1 library in it. Once a year (during the summer) they have a children's program where they have a story hour and a contest to see who can read the most books in one month. There are a few computers. No book discussions or tutoring that I know about.

It offers most of the services you mentioned except films. And I don't think the tutoring is on official basis, through the library. I just know every time I'm in there, some adult/teen pair is sitting there going over homework.
The library has a public meeting room, so it hosts all kinds of community groups - both for regular meetings and special events. The library also holds classes in things like computer basics and genealogy research. There's also a summer reading program with prizes for kids, teens and adults.

The service I like best is a computerized library catalog for the entire library system that my library is part of, which totals about 15 libraries. I don't even have to peruse the stacks, I can just go one line and do any multitude of searches and get any book, DVD, CD, etc. I want.
They also have the children's summer reading project, adult and teen book discussions, specialized book discussions, master gardeners come on certain days to answer any questions related to their field of expertise, computer usage, kid's story times, poetry readings, computer tutoring and other social events. It's a pretty comprehensive library.

They have a lrage collection of films, non-fiction videos and DVD's as well as self-help videos and DVD's. They offer books on tape and large type books. They have computers for use by the public and tutoring as well. They have an online service where you can reserve a computer or check out their catologue for your favourite author.subject.

The St. Louis County Library has all the above.
The best thing to do is to visit the home page at www.slcl.org.
I have been a worker there for almost 25 years.
We also have a well known genealogy department.
(I am in the audio visual department.)
We also have about 20 branches and bookmobiles and interlibrary loan
programs.
We also have reading programs for adults and children.
We just started getting e-books.

The Topeka Public Library has DVD's for books as wells as movies, we have well over 30 computers for the general public to use. The library will purchase books, software, movies, of just about any kind, not only that they will mail to them to you free of charge. There are many programs for kids of all ages...Smiles, for a library in the midwest It's my opinion that our library is one of the better libraries in the entire nation...

They allow you to search the entire system's catalogue and request items on line. They then send a post card to notify you of arrival. They are great here in Hawaii. PS Ronald Mc Donald was there the other day. I suppose the Pizza hut noid and colonel Sanders' ghost will be next.

All of the above and much more. We have adult programs in many topics including a crochet circle once a month. Other library branches have knit and other needlework clubs. We have multi-media resources to borrow. We're lucky to have such a great library (Cincy)
