OK over the summer I'm aiming to get seriously fit as I've been lagging lately. I want to start a new sport come the end of summer but I don't know what, any suggestions?

I'm in the UK, not much of a team player, and I'm not really in to the martial arts thing- thanks!

Well that narrows it down a bit.
I could say swimming like most of the others but I'm not going to.
I think you should do the best sport out there for getting you fit, which is SEX and plenty of it.
Enjoy your new fitness plan! lol

Start off by looking at yourself in the mirror, look at yourself and start think positive, sport is all about being positive, it doesn't matter if you want to run marathons, climb mountains, or swin to America, start feeling good about yourself.

Before you start anything, have your fitness level checked out, no good starting something if you are going to injury yourself.

If needs be start off walking, join a ramblers group or go to a gym and join a group training session but start slowly, get involved with people, look at your positives not your negatives, you might find that underneath there is a great person attempting to get out, let that happen.

Once you start feeling better in yourself you can start to make decisions but have a go, you've the chance to make friends and get yourself fitter, don't rush and ignore any negative comment you see as answers listed here.

Good luck

I just started playing on a soft ball team ( mind you my whole life I've been a prissy girl and never touched a ball) and let me tell you-if you practice enough it is a work out and a half. I just practice throwing and swinging the bat and I am sore as ****.

Swimming exercises every muscle in the body. Cycling is good too! Start slowly though!

Have a look for rock climbing centres in your area. I started going to an indoor climbing centre and believe me it does keep you fit and builds up your stamina.

And it's great fun as well.

Swimming is a good one as it will give the majority of your muscles a workout at the same time.
