It all depends which part of the island your going to. San antonio is the main clubbing area, which can be rough at night but its quiet during the day. There are a few other rough area,s, but you get them no matter where you holiday. Ive been going to Ibiza for 6 years with my family, never had any trouble. I am a strong believer in if your looking for trouble it will find you, if your the party going type then stay in the clubbing areas of Ibiza, But the island is lovely & the people are friendly,Were going back there again in October looking forward to it...

Ibiza is a very popular tourist destination, especially due to its legendary and at times riotous nightlife centered mainly in Ibiza Town, the island's capital on the eastern shore. Ibiza Town has become a popular destination for tourists. The most famous clubs include Privilege (the largest club in the world), Es Paradís (noted for its water parties), Amnesia (known for foam parties), Space (an afterparty club), Pacha, Eden, and DC10. These clubs have become the center of the worldwide electronic music movement. During the summer, world class DJs perform at the various clubs on weekly schedules, in between touring to other international destinations. Many of these DJs use Ibiza as an outlet for presenting new songs within the house and trance genres of electronic dance music. A typical schedule for vacationers includes waking at noon, early evening naps, late night clubbing, and "disco sunrises". Due to Ibiza's notable tolerance toward misbehavior from young adult tourists, it has acquired the sobriquet "Gomorrah of the Med". It is also famous for Café del Mar, a long-standing bar where many tourists traditionally view the sunset.
Sant Antoni de Portmany from afarThe island is not just known for its party scenes, though, as large portions of the island are registered as U.N. World Heritage Sites, and thus devoid of the commercialization of the main cities, for example, "God's Finger" in the Benirras Bay, or more traditional Ibithenco cultural sites. Because of its purported natural beauty, companies and artists alike frequently use the island for photographic and film shoots. A monument erected in honour of Christopher Columbus can be found in Sant Antoní: Ibiza is one of several places purporting to be his birthplace.

There really is two sides to Ibiza, yes you have your livley resorts such as San Antonio but you also have some fantastic quieter resorts like Cala Bona, Es Cana, Portinax and Calla Longa.
Ibiza often gets a bad reputation from the press from the livlier areas but it really is a gem in the Balearics!

not in any respect been there yet - The motel is fantastic - slightly a options from each little thing thou. fantastic harbour how ever - Its a quieter part of the island. I stayed contained in the Sol Ibiza even as i stayed contained in the motel and we had to stroll for the length of a 100m abandoned (no lighting fixtures fixtures) airborne dirt and dirt field which became no longer fantastic to do contained in the nighttime - except that, the motel became great region no longer undesirable in the experience that your searching for a quiet vacation.
