Libraries are wonderful! I go all the time. I don't have a lot of money to buy books, cds, dvds or the like. At my local library, I can check out as much as I want! And, it's free!

I remember going as a child and enjoying every minute of it.

I recommend it highly!

I vote for my library's levy whenver it comes on the ballot.

I love the library! I recall the days when the library was not available to us as a people- and when the rules of our society were challenged (restaurants, buses, and the like), I took full advantage of every opportunity to participate. I go to the library at 2-3 times a week. I enjoy the coolness inside and all the books! With modern technology being what it is- you can hardly use the computers that are available - however, I still like selecting a good book, going to the reading section, grabbing a comfortable cushioned chair and sinking down with the book. It's usually quiet and sectioned so that children who want to play games are no were near the adults who want to study and read. Research material is in abundance! And to top it off - the library staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Regularly, there are events for adults and children that occur throughout the week - and especially in the summer. I really love our libraries here. My biggest challenge is to get my students to secure library cards for themselves. I always have to give away "free points" to encourage students to get a library card. I would not be caught anywhere, any state without a library card. It's synonymous to my drivers license!

I'm in a library right now 'cuz I'm too broke to get a computer that will actually support an internet connection. Sigh. They also have books, DVDs, movies, books on tape/cd, and magazines so I don't have to read them in the checkout line at the grocery store. Is this one of those Socratic method questions, where you ask a question to get us thinking about a subject but you already kinda know the answer? The question is in the vein of, "How many of you eat fiber on a regular basis? Are you aware of the benefits of yellow vegetables?"

I've been going to Libraries, since my dad took me as a young boy, to the Childrens library in Scotland. He signed me up, as soon as I was able to read.
I've been going ever since, although, it's the Los Angeles Public Library now.
The offerings are immense, from Computers, Musical tapes, books on tape, Videos, story telling afternoons fo the kids, just about anything you need is there. The librarians are always helpful and friendly and can point you in the direction you need.
It's been a joy in my life for my entire life. Hate to think, what life would be without them.
Los Angeles Public Libraries, are starting a new program where you can downloan a book on tape, and it will stay on your computer for three weeks, then erase. Great idea.

I am currently a full time student with two jobs and a child, I go to the library very frequently for kids books and research material, it may depend on which state or area you are in some rural areas don't offer as many luxuries as big cities do but major libraries have videos , newspapers, magazines, areas to research old ones, viewing rooms, computer labs, children's areas, my library has an exhibit area with the newest technology available for viewing pleasure...oh and please use the librarians for help they get bored sometimes,,,

I haunt our library regularly, actually we have dozens to choose from all interlinked. The library I go to most was just redesigned and built in its new location and is apparently state of the art with no other library like it in my country (Canada). Yes, I do know of many of the services our library offers our community and now, it offers quite abit more as well.

We have access to numerous selections which can be requested from any of the libraries within our city, there are sessions where people can attend to learn any number of things and they also have discussion groups based on selected books. They offer a book service to shut ins, and to those who can't get to any of the library branches easily. They offer transport service for elderly and disabled patrons. They provide library service for elderly folks in the retirement homes througout our area. They conduct childrens reading and activity sessions and offer an onsite child care program.

We enjoy video/dvd and audio selections from a massive selection along with numerous just off the presses type books from all genre and subject, and we can order any book we want to that the libraries do not yet have and the library will obtain it. We have express checkouts whereby we scan our own books out and do not require a librarian. There are dozens of computer terminals throughout the library that access high speed internet and also provide search facilities for patrons to locate books they want. Row upon row of books that takes days to actually go through, wireless connectivity for anyone who requires laptop access to the net and tons of desks for studying, reading, writing etc as well as many comfy chairs for lounging to read....I am in love!

I could really go on for far longer than I should...to be honest I am enamoured with the new library that I'm pretty certain most if not all of my fines helped to finance :) Libraries and librarians are very important to a community and to people in general.

If you are one...thank you for doing such a great job!

At least once a week. My library has DVDs for checkout, which I use all the time. Also, I'm a huge reader, so I load up as much as possible. It's incredible for research. My library also has WiFi and regualr internet ports and the ability to reserve items from the Net. Very useful.

I go about three or times a week. I go mainly to use the computer though. I have a better selection of the type books I read the library in this area does. I use to use their research room but their is only so much you can do their.
I know they have several classes they teach, & events for children.

I go all the time. I can access the on-line catalog and reserve books and then pick them up at the library. I read a lot of novels and it saves me a lot of money and I don't have to store the books or get rid of them.

I also check out DVD's from the library - at no cost.
