When I was 19 years old I was walking around my apartment nude an up stairs apartment with the curtains open and an officer rang my door bell and told me that I better not do that in front of the window like that because someone could rape or even kill me so it all depends on the beauty of the situation,
Opening the door for your boyfriend Cool, openiong the door nude for your grandma not cool see my point.

It is indecent exposure if you open the door nude and someone catches you and calls the police. It does not matter if it is your house. Most of the time the cops will just say whatever since it is your home but you can be arrested or ticketed or given a summons. Of course I'm sure if you're hot no one will complain. So this law only really affects fat ugly people and we all know that they should NEVER EVER open any door half-naked much less fully naked.

You know that question has me really thinking. I would think that if you are exposed to the public view then it would be indecent exposure. If you are concealed then it would be fine unless it was an intended delivery like UPS or USP and you wanted to make them uncomfortable. It would have to be proven that you had "criminal intent" and then it could be taken to court. You would be famous ill bet! I wouldn't want that kind of notoriety in the least but it probably would make the headlines of the paper.

You're not technically in public because you are standing in your house. Someone had to come on your private property to ring your doorbell and as far as I'm concerned you can answer the door in just a pair of socks and the authorities can't do anyting to you.

If you live in an area where others can see you, yes , you could be arrested. I believe even in rural areas, if someone is offended when you answer the door naked, they can press charges.

In some states you are allowed to answer the door in the nude. I believe that california is one but you need to check your local laws.

I would raise hell if I was arrested for that! If the person who knocked on your door turned you in for that then you should have them arrested for trespassing.

I think only if you are in view of others outside. Just cause your at your property doesn't mean u can flash little kids who happen to be going by.

Well... I think it is. Especially if you open the door to girl scouts or something like that. But I'm not totally sure. It's incredably rude anyway.
