To me it seems to look this way at times but I personally feel that marriage completes the circle of love.

Fashion is trendy. Marriage has not come and gone out of fashion.
Style is enduring. Since marriage has been around for several millenia, I think it is safe to say that marriage is "in style."
Comparatively, suits with ties have not been an admirable trend for even .1% of the time that marriage has been around and respected and suits with ties have been around for over 100 years.

It depends on why people get married. My mother divorced my father years and years ago because my father tried to control my mother and force her to do his bidding and live the way he thought fit, and I don't blame her for leaving him. On the flip side, my mother met a guy over 10 years ago, and they've been together, happy as clams, ever since. They also have not gotten married, and when asked why not, they ask why mess with a good thing?
Another story is of a similar couple who were together, unmarried, for over 10 years. They ended up tying the knot, for a few reasons, and within 6 months, they had gotten divorced and hated each other.
It's funny how that little legal contract can mess with people's heads.

No, but with the divorce rate at 50%, it does seem like getting to know each other before marriage, staying faithful, and lifelong partnerships are.
People who get divorced aren't bad, of course, but I really do wish people would take a little longer before deciding to make a commitment so large.

Sometimes people marry out of fashion or just because the girl is pregnant, but it should be out of love and caring for one another.

kind of. i think that people are getting overstimulated in many ways and they aren't spending the time they need or required to put into a marriage so they just give up. then they get divorced. noone wants divorce so other people decide just not to get married at all. I just hope it doesn't cause all of us as a society to disconnect from each other emotionally.
