I know everyones different but I am bored and ready for this baby I still have like 2 1/2 weeks left till my due date wich is july 16th but I heard that by the 38th week 50% of women give birth so I was wondering how close to your due date did you come with your first baby?

I also heard that how close your mother delivered to her due date might have something to do with it, anyone know if this is true? me and my sister were both born exactly on our due dates

It is funny. You spend at least 8 months quoting a particular date over and over when asked when you are due , and most of the time, the baby does not come on that exact date.

My first baby was 7 days after my due date.
My second baby was 5 days after my due date.
My third baby was 11 days before my due date.
My fourth baby was 2 days after my due date.

And I am NOT having anymore!

I took a class about relaxation techniques and yada yada yada at about 32 weeks and my instructor told me by 37 weeks to visualize your cervix opening.. so basically sit there and meditate... I did it at 36 1/2 weeks and I swear the day after I started having contractions... some hurt, but they went away.... and then the rest were braxton hicks! then about a week after having contractions (and me visualizing my cervix opening and going through labor and pushing the baby out) I WENT INTO FULL BLOWN LABOR!!! So I was 37 1/2 weeks when my son was born... I feel like me doing this did help (some women probably won't think so) but I guess I will prove myself wrong/right with the next one :O) GOODLUCK and get an epidural... they were wonderful... the only piece of advice I got from the class was the visualization technique... nothing about the relaxing through a contraction (cause they sure as hell hurt, and I couldn't breath)!

My first was a week past my due date. My second was 2 weeks past my due date. My third was 2 weeks early. I have always heard it all depends on when the baby is ready to come out.

With both my sons I was 10 days - 2 weeks early. But they were also really big babies. My first was 8 pounds 13 ounces and the second was 9 pounds 3 ounces. So that might have something to do with it as well.

I know you are just ready to have it be over with...but enjoy the time without the baby while you can, trust me! : )

I was due July 19th 2004 Delivered on July 6th. But had contractions 2 weeks before that, just nothing serious. But that did cause me to be 5 centimeters dialated already when I did go in for delivery.

To tell you the truth i was 1 day over due, but you know doctor's can approximately give a due date but the baby will come when it's ready, sometimes it's over the time, but just relax and try not to get too anxious about it, wish you luck....you'll be fine.

My daughter was born 6 days early. I went in for appt with the doc and he said "see ya in two days" As he was going out the door he asked me if my baby was still active. I told him the baby was not active. He did an ultra sound and discovered there was not enough water in my sac and sent me right to the hospital to induce me. Kinda good that he checked. could have been a very dry delivery
