You have to delete them through itunes. If you have it set so that itunes syncs with the nano and sends the entire library, delete the song from the library. Or, if you want the song in your itunes but not nano, make a playlist with all the songs you want on the nano. Then when the nano is plugged in, right click options and set it to only sync. songs from that playlist.

If you want the songs on your computer still but not your iPod, once you plug your iPod into the computer, go into iTunes and click on "iPod options" change it to manually import files. Now, go to the side menu and click on "iPod" you can delete songs from there. They will still remain in your library though. But don't change it back to automatically import files because then it will put all those songs back on your iPod.

go to ur itunes sheet and delete them from there. Then u go to "upgrade my ipod" and then check ur ipod. They shouldnt be there! Thats all!!

go to your itunes sheet and right click - remove and you can delete any song.
for photos go to whatever folder you have your photos sychronized from and just delete them from the folder.
