Yes, If you look at how far we have advanced technology wise it's unbelievable and the Knowledge we have acquired yet after all this let's be honest the way we treat each other has barely moved a step forward since the day of the caveman.I don't think as species over all any of us have the right to say we are "civilised"

No. Although the human species is violent and destructive now, these are primarily characteristics of men (as opposed to women). Men will change in the future for the following reason: A female has two X chromosomes. A male has an X and a Y chromosome. Hence a baby has two chances of inheriting a functional X chromosome, so the X chromosome has the opportunity to self-repair from one generation to the next. The Y chromosome can only be inherited from the father, hence it cannot self repair; it just accumulates damage and will eventually become redundant. In other species where this has happened the sperm-producing gene has successfully migrated onto the Y chromosome, so I am not saying that men will turn into women, but centuries from now, you should expect men to be less aggressive, less hairy and a lot better at interior design.

I dont think so, we've shown ourselves to be an extrmely adaptable species, that is why we triumphed over Neanderthals, we will find a way to survive, as we always have done, especailly now, considering how many humans there are it is unlikely we will all be wiped out. I doubt we will destroy ourselves. Many things like deforestation are due to the fact that poor people in Brazil need money and so have to cut down trees to get it, if we sort out their problems they wont need to cut the trees down, and we can apply this to other situations.
I dont think we will wipe ourselves out. we may be stupid sometimes as a species but we aren't that stupid
I think we will live int o the future and survive many bad things.

I would say statistically, it will happen some day. Our species has too many "weapons of mass destruction" that could wipe out the entire human race in a heartbeat (no pun intended). It is only a matter of time.

Yes if we as a species do not smarten up and start really taking care of our environment. WE as a species are the only ones capable of really consciously improving the world.

we are destined to destroy the planet but we will venture into the galaxy in search for a new home. Like it's been said...we are a virus. The Matrix was right on the money with it's interpretation

Don't overestimate humans, we're not really as destructive as we like to imagine.
We'll be destroyed by some natural disaster but life will go on.
Unless we discover the Higgs Boson then Alles Kaput!!!

Probably. We are not threatened by any animals anymore. If an animal becomes a bother, we kill it. It seems that the impact we have on the earth is starting to take it's toll, and is affecting us via powerful natural disasters (global warming), pollution, chemicals (pesticides, etc.) and other things that subject us to toxins everywhere. So if it's not a slow process that we kill ourselves and animals, it'll probably be war.

No! Gaia theory states thats the earth is a living organism -self regulating etc...
unfortunatly it cannot reproduce! life is doomed to die out when the sun dies - nothing on earth will survive that!
Humans can give the earths biosphere a chace to reproduce! the current situation is Gaia going through puberty!

Quite possibly, but I think before that happens, we'll see a large resurgence of the Pagan religions. They were the ones making sure the earth was cared for in their growth, so I think people will return to them too late to try and fix things.
